Lensic presentations often feature local artists as part of the organization’s mission to support the arts in Santa Fe. By partnering with local nonprofits The Lensic introduces the community to talent from around the world and in our own backyard.
Circus Luminous: An annual Thanksgiving holiday show since 2003, Circus Luminous is a collaborative effort created and performed by local artists. Circus Luminous is an ever growing and evolving group of local talent—Santa Fe’s own top notch performing, visual and musical artists—brought together by Wise Fool New Mexico to produce the annual awe-inspiring circus for family audiences.
Nuestra Música: A festival of Nuevo Mexicano music, this program has been presented in partnership with the Museum of Spanish Colonial Arts since 2001. The Lensic has been honored with a generous grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to support the festival. Curated by local ethnomusicologist and aural historian Jack Leoffler, artists that have participated in this program include Cipriano Vigil, Chuy Martinez, Oti Ruiz, and Trio Jalapeño.
New Mexico Jazz Festival: The Lensic is the proud co-sponsor of the New Mexico Jazz Festival, in partnership with the Outpost Performance Space and the Santa Fe Jazz Foundation. Each year, the festival generates more interest within the community and has begun to achieve national attention, garnering a mention on NPR’s All Things Considered.
Musicians to have graced the stage during the four years of the festival include: Sonny Rollins, McCoy Tyner, Branford Marsalis, Cassandra Wilson, Pharaoh Sanders, Dianne Reeves, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Dave Grusin and many others.
The Met: Live in HD: This popular high definition series is co-produced by The Lensic and the Santa Fe Opera and is in its fourth season at The Lensic.
