Job Summary

The Lensic seeks a highly motivated and collaborative individual with strong experience in fundraising for the position of Annual Gifts Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing all annual fundraising campaigns, in coordination with the Director of Development, Board President, Board Chair, and Executive Director. This position must be able to communicate and socialize with a wide range of supporters and patrons, including both board members and major donors. Also required are excellent written communication skills, budget management experience, and a track record of creating and maintaining successful fundraising campaigns. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Manage Annual Campaign (Leaders of The Lensic, Business Fund Drive, and Friends), including renewing members, finding and soliciting new prospects, and growing each donor group annually through targeted fundraising campaigns, special events, specific up-asks, and donor cultivation
• Oversee research and grant writing for foundations and corporations, track existing grants, provide interim and final reports
• Work with Board President to raise annual funds from the board of directors, track pledges, increase giving, and gain new members
• Create and execute a development plan for a large sustained base of annual donors
• Work with the Director of Development to manage the annual development budget in all fundraising categories
• Manage the development fundraising calendar, making sure all deadlines are being met
• Oversee the organization and maintenance of donor files
• Serve as key staff on Development, Business, and Nominating committees, including preparation of agendas and materials
• Serve on Finance, Gala, and Campaign committees
• Work in collaboration with Communications Director on development-related website content, email marketing, and all development department collateral materials
• Assist with and attend donor events
• Other duties may be assigned as needed

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 3 – 5 years of fundraising experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to communicate and socialize with a wide range of supporters and patrons, including board members and major donors, both in person and on the phone
• Ability to multi-task and efficiently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
• Excellent organization skills
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, donor database software programs, and the use of Internet are required. Knowledge of Tessitura is preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in arts administration, fundraising, business, or related field
Other Requirements:
• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds
• Ability to sit for long periods of time and use computer
• Ability to work in an occasionally moderately noisy environment
• Ability to work some evening and weekend hours
