The guitar music of South America has fascinated marimbists for decades and many arrangements of the guitar literature have been written for the marimba. Marimba icon Gordon Stout will play his arrangements of three Argentinian guitar Choros accompanied by Dane Richeson on percussion. The Choros embody the rich, spicy flavor of South America.

From Argentina we head across the Atlantic to Eastern Europe for a rare treat as Croatian born marimba virtuoso, Ivana Bilic, along with Dane Richeson, will perform Ms. Bilic’s arrangements of several Croatian folk songs.

Our special guest at the Marimba Festival is the Latin Jazz legend, Victor Mendoza, who will be joined by the Bert Dalton Trio and Dane Richeson on percussion. This outstanding group will rock the second half with fiery Latin rhythms and sultry sambas. This is a night not to be missed.
