Throughout his career, folk icon Arlo Guthrie has honored his father in song as well as in life. With the centennial of Woody’s birthday, Arlo Guthrie embarks on a new solo tour, Here Comes the Kid, continuing the celebration of his father’s immeasurable contributions to the landscape of American folk music.
For 40 years, Arlo Guthrie has brought his timeless stories and unforgettable classic tunes to audiences around the world. He gave his first public performance in 1961 at age 13 and quickly became involved in the music that was shaping the world. Guthrie’s career exploded in 1967 with the release of Alice’s Restaurant, whose title song helped foster a new commitment among the 1960s generation to social consciousness and activism.
