Santa Fe, NM – The Lensic proudly presents a free screening of one of the most beloved musicals of all time, West Side Story, on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at 7:00 pm. The movie is being featured to celebrate Rita Moreno’s upcoming October performance at The Lensic. Tickets are free, but they must be reserved to guarantee admission (TicketsSantaFe.org).

Featuring an Oscar-winning performance by Rita Moreno, West Side Story also stars Natalie Wood, and Richard Beymer. The film won 10 Academy Awards in 1961, including Best Supporting Actress for Moreno. A “Romeo and Juliet” tale set among feuding gangs the Jets and the Sharks on New York’s Upper West Side, it’s a tragic love story and one of the most beloved movie-musicals of all time.

Actress and singer Rita Moreno is one of only 12 performers in history to have won all four major American arts awards: an Oscar, a Tony, an Emmy, and a Grammy. The Latina legend will sing and tell stories, sharing experiences from her childhood in Puerto Rico and her amazing 70-plus-year career, in “Rita Moreno: My Life with Words and Music,” on October 27.
