On February 13, the classic fairytale and popular favorite, The Princess Bride, makes its debut at The Lensic. The Way We Were, starring Barbara Streisand and Robert Redford and directed by Sydney Pollack, will be shown on February 14.

The Met: Live in HD, SIEGFRIED, Rescheduled to January 14, 2012 at 12 pm
The Lensic Performing Arts Center and The Santa Fe Opera announce the rebroadcast of the November 5 performance of The Met: Live in HD, Siegfried, which was cancelled due to a power outage that affected the downtown area and neighborhoods beyond the morning of the event. The rebroadcast will begin at 12 pm on January 14, 2012 and run approximately 5 hours and 29 minutes, with two intermissions.

The poem, written by Stephen Vincent Benét in 1928, is considered one of America’s only epic poems. It covers in its expansive narrative major personalities and everyday characters of the Civil War, from Abraham Lincoln and militant abolitionist John Brown, to individual soldiers of the North and South and the women who loved them.
