Youth Programs - Community Sponsorship - Lensic Programming

Santa Fe audiences see over 250 performances each year at the Lensic. It has become home to many excellent organizations including the Lannan Foundation with its acclaimed "Readings and Conversations" series; Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, who are quickly gaining attention on the national dance scene; and Santa Fe's own Concert Association, Symphony, Pro Musica and Chamber Music Festival to name a few.

The Lensic has also developed its own presenting and performance series. These are grounded in a need for diverse and exciting programs, in supporting local artists and in developing partnerships that enliven and sustain the Santa Fe arts community.

With our Lensic Presents and World Music Series, we take an active role in presenting unique performances with internationally-acclaimed performers like The Suzanne Farrell Ballet, The Flying Karamazov Brothers, Lila Downs, Amjad Ali Khan and Corn Mountain/ Pine Mountain, a collaboration between the Appalachian Roadside Theater and Zuni Pueblo.

We are collaborating with local artists to develop new works and ongoing projects. These have gained a large following, with sell-out performances of our holiday spectacular Circus Luminous featuring Santa Fe's Wise Fool New Mexico, BING and Moving People Dance Theatre; and the New Mexican music festival Nuestra Música, which spotlights traditional performers from throughout the Rio Grande region. Our series Under Construction has featured new works in progress by the likes of Howard Korder, Terry Allen and Joan Tewkesbury in readings with Olympia Dukakis, Kathleen Chalfant, Harris Yulin and other top performers.

We are partnering with other local performing arts presenters and organizations to support projects like The Santa Fe Dance Festival and Aspen Santa Fe Ballet’s presentation of Complexions dance company. The Lensic, in collaboration with Outpost Productions and the Santa Fe Jazz foundation, presented for the first time in 2006 the New Mexico Jazz Festival.

And we are upholding the tradition of Santa Fe's only vintage movie palace with Lensic Big Screen Classics, offering $5 tickets to films like Lawrence of Arabia, West Side Story, Dr. Strangelove, Casablanca and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
