The Lensic, Santa Fe’s Performing Arts Center, is committed to nurturing and presenting local artists on its stage, providing them with opportunities to share their talents with Santa Fe residents of and visitors.

Programs presented by The Lensic, which feature local artists, introduce our community to world-class talent found right in our own backyard. Examples of The Lensic’s commitment to encouraging the creative growth of the local arts community include:

• Circus Luminous: An annual Thanksgiving holiday show since 2003, Circus Luminous is a collaborative effort created and performed by local artists from Wise Fool New Mexico, Moving People Dance Theatre, and The Brilliant Dullards, a contemporary folk music ensemble.
• Nuestra Música: A festival of Nuevo Mexicano music, this program has been presented in partnership with the Museum of Spanish Colonial Arts since 2001. For the third consecutive year, The Lensic has been honored with a generous grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to support the festival. Local and regional artists that have participated in this program include Cipriano Vigil, Chuy Martinez, Oti Ruiz, and Trio Jalapeño.
• Artistic Partnerships: The Lensic is the proud co-sponsor of events such as: the annual Santa Fe Dance Festival; the New Mexico Jazz Festival, in partnership with the Outpost Performance Space and the Santa Fe Jazz Foundation; and Memorylines Santa Fe: Voices from a Collection Journey, created in partnership with the Santa Fe Opera and Little Globe Productions. Memorylines was a contemporary opera created by Santa Fe artist Molly Sturges involving many other local artists and members of the Santa Fe community.
• Lensic Lounge: A series of showcases that featured a variety of local artists including musicians, actors, dancers, and comedians. Barbara Mayfield, Alex Maryol, Leslie Livingston, Teodoro Grivas, Rod Harrison, Max Olivas, and Nacha Mendez are a few of the Santa Feans who have participated in the Lensic Lounge.
